Most questions were a result of a recent promotional sale of the Aiptek camera most similar in function to the original Spypen (3-in-1) camera. Is the Aiptek less expensive? Yes. Just as a Chevy is less expensive than a Porshe. Here, we asked one of our reps in The Netherlands to explain a few technical reasons why...
| "The AIPTEK VGA camera
does not have the quality of the SPYPEN line. SPYPEN is, as
you know, produced by a German company with 50 years experience in photography. The pictures you get out of the SPYPEN cameras can be printed at any online service and will give you great photo quality.
Ironically, the AIPTEK people visited our booth at a recent trade show and they would not believe the samples we showed them were made with our
cameras. They (Aiptek) write for example : motion picture quality. But these vids have no sound and in low quality (20 secs) it is really not recommended for you to watch unless you want sore eyes. AIPTEK cameras have plastic lenses on their cams, the SPYPEN has all glass lenses. The MEMO in our line has a 5 layer glass lense. The CLEO, XION and AXYS have built in software called Fine Pixel Tuning. That increases the VGA resolution to a pritnable quality. It's like comparing a Daihatsu to a Rolls Royce. In fact, we believe from watching them
(Aiptek) in Europe, that they are stuck with a big stock of Pencam VGA and are now trying to get rid of them at cost or
below because the quality isn't very good, and consumers realize it. |
